Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool collects only six pieces of information: your gender, date of birth, self-reported health level, tobacco use status, the coverage amount you want, and the term length you prefer. Those six answers are sufficient for the carriers to return rate quotes. We only gather your name, address, and full health details if you decide to submit an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices shown are what each carrier quoted for the health class you selected. Once you apply, the final premium will be determined by the carrier through underwriting, which may keep your class the same, move you to a better one, or adjust it. The rates on this site are provided for information only and are not a guarantee, offer of insurance, or commitment to any particular price.
What happens when I click Apply?
You continue to a secure application platform run by the carriers, and your answers are used to prefill it. You can save your progress and come back later, and you sign everything electronically. The entire application process is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency operating under License 0B75129.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the specific carrier, the coverage amount you are applying for, and your individual health profile. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants, which allows them to make decisions based on your application, prescription records, driving history, and other data instead of a physical exam. Each quote on this site indicates whether the carrier requires an exam, might require one, or does not require one for that particular product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the period when your income would be critically important to someone else: a mortgage to be repaid, children who depend on you until they become independent, or a business loan. Longer terms cost more each month but lock in your rate for a longer period. This site lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 year terms side by side, so you can see the difference.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not collect your contact information at all. We do not sell or share visitor data with anyone, and we do not use advertising trackers. Our measurement is completely cookieless. Read the privacy page to see the complete list of what gets collected and who has access to it.
